House Burnin' Down

Sometimes it just feels like your "House is Burning Down" .
Jimi Hendrix wrote this song after the urban riots of the 1960's. Yet even he had a message that we should stand strong, learn from our mistakes and look ahead (see red).
There is no doubt our lives are being tossed around with a war that has drained our resources, financial organizations that have misused our savings, a President that is out of touch with reality, the media that is out of control, our youth's value systems that have been dumbed down and in many cases a malaise has been set on us that we are drowning in. But take hope.
There is always an answer. Maybe we needed to be humbled. Maybe we are too arrogant as a society. Maybe out taste for spending needed to be curbed. Maybe this shock to our socio-economic system is good.
There is nothing wrong with taking a step back before we move forward.
There is nothing wrong with stepping outside the bubble for a moment to take stock of what is really important.
There is nothing wrong with re-evaluating our values.
There is nothing wrong with re-inventing ourselves and learning new lessons.
I do understand how hard it is when the check stops flowing in.
I do understand how it feels when your life is on the road and gas prices keep soaring.
I do understand when you have a high deductible and someone hits your car without leaving a note.
I do understand how your kids trash your house and think nothing of it.
I do understand how your adjustable rate has driven you to tears.
What I do not understand is the word "NO".
What I do not understand is how we can feel sorry for ourselves when most of humanity lives below the so-called poverty line.
What I do not understand is how we can let ourselves be caught up in the nonsensical way of living that we have been victim to this past decade.
We chose out President!
We choose the way we raise our kids!
We choose out mates!
We choose the values we live by!
We can change.
We can better ourselves through self exploration.
We can start today.

Look at the sky turn a hell fire red
Somebodys house is burnin down down, down down
Down, down, down.

Well I asked my friend where is that black smoke comin from ?
He just coughed and changed the subject and said oh wa I think it might
Snow some
So I left him sippin his tea an I jumped in my chariot
And rode off to see just why and who could it be this time.

Sisters and brothers daddys mothers standin round cryin
When I reached the scene the flames were makin a ghostly whine
So I stood on my horses back an I screamed without a crack
I say oh baby whyd you burn your brothers house down ?

Hey ! hey ! hey ! hey !

Look out the sky turn a hell fire red lord
Somebodys house is burnin down down, down down
Look out the sky turn a hell fire red lord
Somebodys house is burnin down down, down down down.

Well someone stepped from the crowd he was nineteen miles high
He shouts retired and disgusted so we paint red through the sky
I said the truth is straight ahead so dont burn yourself instead
Try to learn instead of burn, hear what I say, yeah, yeah.

So I finly rode away but Ill never forget that day
cause when I reached the valley I looked way down cross the way
A giant boat from space landed with eerie grace
And came and taken all the dead away.

Hey ! hey ! hey ! hey !

Whatd I say.
Look at the sky turn a hell fire red lord
Somebodys house is burning down down, down down
Look at the sky turn a hell fire red lord
Somebodys house is burning down down, down down
Look at the sky, look at the sky.

Norm,
Deep thoughts, I really liked the post. Drop me a line sometime. I somehow have your phone number wrong and the email continues to be messed up when I try you.

Norm,
Some good thoughts, but quit picking on the media. I am not "out of control"!
